How much does a dog grooming website cost?
If you work on your own, nothing: the one-professional plan includes the website, the address on trimly.es, online booking and card payment, does not expire and does not ask for a card to get started. With more hands on the table you move to the flat team fee, with no limit on professionals and without us keeping a percentage of every bath. Messages are bought in packs when they are needed.
How do I charge differently depending on the size of the dog?
By having a service per size, which is how they come out of the box: bath and cut small, medium and large, each with its own price and its own minutes. The owner picks theirs when booking, so you neither have to ask afterwards nor correct the amount when the animal arrives. And if you often meet dogs that fall between two sizes, you can add one in the middle.
Can I leave half an hour between one dog and the next?
Yes. It is called the gap between appointments and it is set in minutes, for every service or only for some. That time is not offered to anyone: the slots are worked out counting the service plus the margin, so the next appointment cannot start until you have finished clearing up. On a day with three large dogs in a row it is the difference between being on time and running late.
Can I accept each booking myself before it is firm?
Yes, by turning on manual approval in the settings. Bookings made on the website then arrive as pending; you get the notification, you see the service, the size and the owner's details, and you decide. Until you accept, that hour is not counted as closed. You can keep it on for a while and take it off once you know your clients.
Where do I write down the dog's breed and temperament?
In the notes on the client's record. You write the breed there, how the dog takes the dryer, whether the ears need care and what cut it had last time, and that information comes up whenever you open any of their appointments. There is no hunting for it in a notebook or trusting your memory when fifteen dogs go through in a week.
Can the owner cancel or move the appointment on their own?
Yes. The confirmation comes with a link where they see their appointment, move it to another time or cancel it, within whatever notice you have set. The slot goes back to being free on the website as soon as they do, without you touching anything, and you see the change in the diary. Better that than someone not turning up because they were too embarrassed to ring.
Can I ask for a deposit on large dogs?
Yes, and you can ask more for them: the deposit applies to every booking made online, and the amount is set service by service. You put a high one on the bath and cut for a large dog, the one that takes half your morning, and a token one on the nail clipping. It is charged by card at booking and comes off the total when the owner picks up. The other option, if you ask nobody for a deposit up front, is for it to be asked automatically of whoever has already left you with an empty slot.
